Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County Awards $160,000 to Local Nonprofits

Since its founding in 2007, the Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County has strengthened the community through collective giving. The Fund has granted more than $1.5 Million to organizations that create opportunities for the Vanderburgh community.

The Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County, a fund held and administered by the Vanderburgh Community Foundation, recently awarded $160,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations during their Annual Meeting on November 5, 2025, at the Evansville Country Club.

Following presentations from six finalist organizations, members of the Women’s Fund voted to select the recipients of two $50,000 Impact Grants—one for a program and one for a project. The remaining finalists each received a $15,000 grant in recognition of their important work in the community.

This year’s finalists included:

  • Program Finalists

    • Aurora

    • Immigrant Welcome and Resource Center

    • Lampion Center

  • Project Finalist

    • Habitat for Humanity of Evansville

    • Ozanam Family Shelter

    • Vanderburgh County CASA

The $50,000 Impact Grant for a Program was awarded to Lampion Center for prioritizing the mental health needs of our community and serving the most vulnerable.

The $50,000 Impact Grant for a Project was awarded to Ozanam Family Shelter for the Ozanam Shelter essential equipment upgrade.

The four remaining finalist organizations each received a $15,000 grant to further their work serving Vanderburgh County residents.
