Vanderburgh Community Foundation Announces $300,000 Grant Opportunity

Letters of Interest must be submitted, using the foundation’s online grant management system, by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022.

The Vanderburgh Community Foundation is excited to announce the largest single grant in the Foundation’s history. In honor of the 30 th Anniversary, the Foundation has opened a special $300,000 grant opportunity. Applications will be accepted from local nonprofits planning or implementing a transformational change initiative benefitting Vanderburgh County.

Since 1992, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation has provided support to local nonprofits and students through the charitable legacies of generous donors. This special grant cycle will allow the Foundation to lead significant positive change for Vanderburgh County.

For 30 years, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation has been proud to support the crucial and selfless work of area nonprofits, said Jim Back, Advisory Board President.

To mark our 30th anniversary, we are announcing a $300,000 transformational grant opportunity for a local nonprofit. This transformational grant
will kick off our 30 th Anniversary celebration and help lay the foundation for the next 30 years. Interested applicants should apply with a Letter of Interest providing a broad introduction to the proposed program or project, and the intended impact for Vanderburgh County. Letters of Interest must be submitted, using the foundation’s online grant management system, by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022.

Applications will be considered from nonprofit organizations that are deemed tax exempt under 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue. Applications from nonprofit organizations not classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity may be considered, provided the program or project is charitable and supports a community need. The applicant organization may be required to obtain a fiscal sponsor to receive the grant.

The project of program must provide support in one the following areas:
 Community Development
 Education
 Environment
 Health
 Human Services
 Youth Development

Applications will be evaluated with a focus on the following priorities: transformational change, measurable outcomes, collaboration, sustainability, and recognition and awareness.

Upon review of the Letters of Interest, organizations may be invited to submit a full proposal.
