Foundation and matching donors total $35,000 to Indiana, Wisconsin disaster responses
The Old National Bank Foundation, part of Old National Bank charitable giving efforts, has announced $20,000 in relief funds, elevated to $35,000 with regional matching gifts from the Lilly Endowment and an anonymous Old National client. The funds address recent natural disasters in Indiana and Wisconsin that have destroyed businesses, caused long-standing power outages, and have left people homeless with shelter needs in the Old National Bank footprint.
Old National Bank Foundation donations and matching gifts:
$5,000 Foundation Grant to Support the Salvation Army ($10,000 total) – Disaster recovery responses continue following severe storms, flooding and tornadoes in Northwest and Central Indiana. The Old National Bank Foundation is donating $5,000, which has been matched by an anonymous Old National client.
$10,000 Foundation Grant to Support the American Red Cross ($20,000 total) – Disaster recovery efforts continue across the region, with the Red Cross helping address power outages, evacuations and shelter needs for approximately 245,000 Indiana residents. The Old National Bank Foundation is donating $10,000, which has been matched by the Lilly Endowment.
$5,000 Foundation Grant to the United Way of the Fox Cities – Recovery efforts continue after an EF-3 tornado struck Wisconsin’s Fox Valley region on July 27, causing significant damage in Appleton and nearby communities. The tornado and storms damaged homes, small businesses, vehicles and critical infrastructure.
“We are grateful for the work the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and United Way of the Fox Cities are doing to help individuals and families recover from these devastating storms,” said Joe Kiser, president of the Old National Bank Foundation. “We're also thankful for the generosity of Lilly Endowment and an Old National client whose matching gifts allow more resources to reach communities as they rebuild.”
Lilly Endowment Inc., headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., is one of the world's largest private philanthropic foundations and among the largest endowments in the United States.
“The recent storms and flooding continue to impact families across Northwest Indiana as many communities are still without power,” said Old National’s Monica Rubio, Northwest Indiana Market President & Community Lending Market Executive. “We have been working with our project team to help provide clarity and guidance around the Indiana Disaster Relief Program through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. Together, we can ensure our community members know where to turn for support.”
