Intermittent closures planned for the Lloyd at Burkhardt Road

Alert! Work at the intersection of the Lloyd Expressway and Burkhardt Road will require daytime intermittent closures beginning Thursday. Various lanes will be shut down for 15- to 20-minute increments at a time as crews install new signal wires. Watch for flaggers!

Work at the intersection will be conducted after morning rush hour and prior to the evening rush hour.

The bulk of the work will be completed Thursday and Friday but could extend into early next week.

The short-term closures, which are weather-dependent, will string existing traffic signals on new wider wires to accommodate construction. When completed in 2026, the improved intersection will feature dual displaced left turns from the Lloyd to Burkhardt Road.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time when using the Lloyd Expressway, plan ahead by visiting INDOT TrafficWise or 511in.org to monitor congestion along the Lloyd.
