FlashFrame 48 Hour Film Festival
The FlashFrame Challenge is a fast-paced, 48-hour filmmaking competition designed exclusively for teens ages 14–18, presented by We Are All Philanthropists. Open to students across Southwestern Indiana, this event invites emerging filmmakers—and any team ready for a fun, creative weekend—to write, shoot, edit, and complete an original short film in just two days.
The 2026 Flash Frame Teen Film Challenge kicks off on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT, and concludes on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT. All teams must upload their finished film by 8:00 PM CT on April 12 to be eligible for judging.
Competition Overview
Dates: April 10, 2026 - April 12, 2025: Friday 5:00 PM – Sunday 5:00 PM
Goal: Teams have 48 hours to conceptualize, shoot, edit, and submit a short film based on a theme and required elements revealed at kickoff.
Awards Ceremony Date: May 1, 2026 - 6:00 PM at WNIN Studios in Evansville
Required Elements
Announced at kickoff to level the playing field and prove the film was made during the challenge. Examples:
- A prompt
- A specific line of dialogue
- A specific prop (e.g., an umbrella or clock)
- All groups may select a genre of their choice

May Event: All teams will be invited to attend the screening and awards ceremony. More information will be released after all films have been submitted.

Each team must submit the release forms listed below with their entry form. These forms must be turned in with the finished film/video on Sunday. Films will not be screened before the FlashFrame Organizers have received the signed release forms.

Rules
- Teams: 2–6 students
- All work must be completed by a student(s). An adult/instructor may serve in the role of producer or executive producer overseeing the work, but all production and postproduction work must be completed by students.
- Must be current high school freshman - senior (Vanderburgh, Warrick, Spencer, Gibson, Posey counties - open to all public, private, parochial, and home school students)
- Time limit: 48 hours
- Film length: 3–10 minutes
- Must include all required elements
- No pre-shot footage or pre-recorded audio
- Original music required. Students may not use unlicensed music in their projects.
- Safe filming practices must be followed
- The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to create any core content for an entry, including but not limited to scripts, video, images, music, or voiceovers, is prohibited. AI may only be used as a tool for technical production assistance (i.e., audio cleanup, color correction, noise reduction, auto-captioning, image stabilization, and similar enhancements), but not for creating any core content.
- Entries which encourage or glorify negative behavior, including, but not limited to use of alcohol, violence or mayhem, and/or profane, indecent, or obscene language are prohibited. Entries including sex, nudity, or illegal drugs are prohibited. Violation of this provision will result in disqualification.
