Prom 2026 is right around the corner, here are some of my favorite things about prom and some fun expectations too!
I have been to prom twice already, making senior year the third and final dance. Senior prom is a big deal at my high school. Especially among the girls! Whether it’s picking out the BEST dress or what hairstyle to wear prom can be so exciting! My sophomore year dress is honestly one of my favorite prom dresses I have ever worn. I loved it so much I even wore it to a pageant I competed in. I loved my junior prom dress too but it was quite the hassle. The dress was a big silky ball gown. We even added three hooks on the back to help hold up my dress and that still was not enough. Looking back the dress was really pretty but it was also a lot. This year I am extremely excited about my selected dress. I had a blast spending time with my mom when we went dress shopping! Prom dresses can be expensive though. If cost becomes a worry the best places to look are at thrift stores, online, and even at local high schools. A lot of the local high schools in Evansville will spend time on a Saturday selling prom dresses! The entire event is always so much fun and they always have great selections!
Another fun part about prom is the people you go with! I have always attended dances with my friends and I would not trade it for anything! My favorite part is getting ready together beforehand. Friends can bring so much fun to a dance, even when you don’t have a date! Last year’s prom my friends came over to my house to get ready, it was so much fun and definitely something I will remember forever!
So for this upcoming dance season remember you can find a dress without breaking the bank and have the best night without a date!
