Hey everyone, DJ Chop here! With October just around the corner, it's time to gear up for one of the biggest and most exciting street festivals in America—the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival! Running for a full week, this festival is a celebration of fall with a fantastic array of rides and delicious food. Today, I’m diving into my top 5 favorite foods from the festival, so let’s get started!
1. Walk-Off Chop
First up is the "Walk-Off Chop" from the Golfmoore Baseball booth. This delectable pork chop on a stick is a must-try. Priced around $7, it offers unbeatable value with its perfectly cooked and seasoned pork. The best part? Its stick format makes it incredibly easy to enjoy while strolling through the festival. If you're a pork lover, this one’s a no-brainer!
2. Pronto Pups
Next on my list are the Pronto Pups, available at various booths throughout the festival. Think of them as corn dogs with a twist—dipped in pancake mix and deep-fried to a golden perfection. They’re usually priced between $2 and $3, so grab a couple because they're that good. Just a heads-up: they can get a bit messy with all the ketchup and mustard, but the flavor is well worth it. Definitely give these a try if you haven’t already!
3. Monster Ear
For dessert, nothing beats the "Monster Ear" from Boy Scout Troop 373’s booth. This deep-fried sweet bread dough, generously sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, is priced around $6. While it might be a bit messy, it's always a crowd-pleaser and leaves you craving more. If you love sweet treats, this is a must-try!
4. Doughnut Burger
Now for something truly unique—the Doughnut Burger from Booth 41, Grace and Lutheran Church. Imagine a cheeseburger nestled between two halves of a doughnut. It’s as messy as it sounds, but oh-so-delicious. Priced at $3.50 for a hamburger and $4.50 for a cheeseburger, it’s a little indulgence that’s worth every penny. If you’re up for a flavor explosion, this is the burger for you!
5. BBQ Parfait
Last but definitely not least, the BBQ Parfait. I personally enjoy mine with cheese, mashed potatoes, and BBQ, but you can customize it to your liking. Priced around $7, it’s packed with flavor and easy to eat while on the move. If you haven’t had a BBQ Parfait before, make sure to add it to your festival itinerary this year!
That wraps up my top 5 favorite foods from the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival. Whether you’re a festival veteran or a first-timer, be sure to swing by and experience these tasty treats for yourself. The 103rd Annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival runs from October 7th to 13th. This is DJ Chop signing out for 90.7 WPSR. See you there!
