The McCutchanville Greenway Park and Nature Preserve is a planned 60-acre public green space designed to serve as a natural and recreational asset for the McCutchanville community.
Community members, local leaders, and supporters are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the McCutchanville Greenway Park and Nature Preserve, a transformative project that will convert approximately 60 acres of the former Eagle Valley Golf Course into a vibrant public green space for northern Vanderburgh County.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on:
Date: April 21, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: 10350 Petersburg Rd, Evansville, IN 47725
This milestone marks the official launch of a long-term vision to create a destination that blends natural preservation, recreation, and community connection. Planned features for the Greenway include scenic walking and biking trails, native habitat restoration, open green space, and areas designed for family use and community gatherings.
“This project represents a unique opportunity to preserve green space while creating a place for people to connect with nature and with each other,” said Neil Woods, President of the McCutchanville Greenway Board. “As our community continues to grow, spaces like this become even more important.”
The McCutchanville Greenway Park and Nature Preserve is being developed through a community-driven effort, supported by local donors, partners, and volunteers. Organizers are currently seeking additional support through sponsorships and contributions to help bring the full vision of the park to life.
The groundbreaking event will include brief remarks from project leaders and community representatives, followed by a ceremonial turning of the soil. Media are encouraged to attend for visuals, interviews, and coverage of this significant community initiative.
