cMoe Welcomes One Millionth Visitor to the Museum

From its early beginning as Hands On Discovery in a donated storefront at Washington Square Mall, to the now 18,000 square foot facility in Downtown Evansville, cMoe has grown to be an important, valuable part of the Evansville community.

The Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is celebrating a significant milestone!  17 years after opening its doors to the public, cMoe welcomed its one millionth visitor into the museum today. This marks the first time in the museum’s history that it has reached one million visitors.

“The Museum is proud to have reached this milestone and is excited to continue bringing playful spaces and experiences to the community.” Terry said. “It was such a fun morning and an amazing honor to meet and greet the family of our millionth visitor! We’re immensely grateful to our guests through these years and look forward to seeing many more.”

Julie and her two grandchildren, ages 7 and 9, were visiting from northern Indiana during the girls’ Fall Break, and cMoe was one of their destinations during their trip. They were surprised and delighted by such a warm welcome during their first Museum visit.

With the recent announcement of the Play It Forward Capital Campaign, boasting plans to build a new mobile museum and outdoor exhibit on the rooftop, as well as giving a refresh and redesign the water play area, theater, and other exhibits, the future of the Children’s Museum is looking bright.

“We’re committed to building on the success that this year has already brought, and we will continue to deliver new and exciting experiences for our visitors in the coming years.” Terry added.

From its early beginning as Hands On Discovery in a donated storefront at Washington Square Mall, to the now 18,000 square foot facility in Downtown Evansville, cMoe has grown to be an important, valuable part of the Evansville community.

Our mission is to create extraordinary experiences that ignite the imaginations of children and families through the power of play. The museum is located at the corner of 5th and Locust Street in Downtown Evansville.  For additional information, please visit www.cmoekids.org or call (812) 643-cMoe (2663).
