The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) has received a grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation to support CenterPoint Energy Family Literacy Nights and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping more Vanderburgh County children and families access literacy experiences and hands-on learning opportunities.
The funding comes as literacy remains a community priority in Evansville through initiatives like We Read, which aims to help more students read at grade level by the end of third grade.
Research shows that play-based learning helps children develop language, communication, and literacy skills. Through interactive experiences at cMoe, children explore, ask questions, tell stories, and build confidence as learners.
The grant will support four free CenterPoint Energy Family Literacy Nights at cMoe:
