Pet of the Week: Meet Blade!

Some cats wear their hearts on their sleeves, while others need a little time to let their personalities shine. This week’s Pet of the Week, Blade, is a sweet, playful 5-month-old Domestic Shorthair mix who is looking for a patient, loving family to call his own!

Blade isn’t the type of kitten who will immediately run up to greet everyone he meets. He can be hesitant around new people and prefers affection on his own terms. Being picked up and handled isn’t his favorite thing, but once he decides you’re someone he can trust, you’ll discover just how sweet he can be! Blade loves cheek and neck scratches and enjoys attention from the people who have earned his confidence.

One thing Blade doesn’t hesitate about? Making feline friends! He absolutely loves other cats and kittens and is happiest when he has furry companions around. He’s playful, curious, and always ready to enjoy some toys and time with his fellow felines. A home with other friendly cats could be just what he needs to feel comfortable and thrive.

Blade originally came to us as a colony cat and has spent a significant portion of his young life in our cat room. We believe he would benefit tremendously from a home where he can enjoy a consistent routine, familiar faces, and the time and space to settle in at his own pace.

Blade may not be the kitten who rushes to greet every visitor, but sometimes the most rewarding relationships are the ones built on patience and trust. For the right person or family, watching Blade grow comfortable, reveal his personality, and learn to seek out affection could be an incredibly special experience.

Blade is neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and preventative care. He’s ready to take the next step and find a family of his very own!
