The Food In Films That Made Us Hungry

How many times have you seen a movie and immediately wanted what the character was eating? It happens to me too many times! Food is one of the most important things so, of course, it stands out in the film. Today I am going to discuss the best food in films!

Growing up the majority of the time I watched something made by Disney. That explains my number one, The Ratatouille, from Pixar’s Ratatouille. I was not much of a vegetable fan but something about how they plated the dish made me want it every time. I wasn't aware it was vegetables until a couple of years ago. Not going to lie, I thought it was made of different forms of pepperonis and tomato sauce.  I was far from the truth! I still haven’t tried the dish but maybe Disney World will include the famous dish in the France Pavilion someday.

My Mom and I have a strange obsession with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I watch it over and over and over….and then I want to watch it again. It might be because of the chocolate factory, the boat ride scene, or the witty songs, but I can’t get enough of it. My favorite scene from Gene Wilders’ version is the Fizzy Lifting Soda. Grandpa Joe and Charlie Bucket share the screen as they crack a cold soda open. They pass it back and forth sipping the soda faster and faster. Soon enough they start “flying” up the metal shoot.  The iconic scene made me feel like I was in the movie I felt; happy, anxious, silly, and laughing

The last one I thought about for today's blog is Danny’s Order from Grease. After Sandy and Danny are secretly back together they make their way over to Frosty’s famous in-town diner. Danny orders a “Double Polar Burger with everything on it, a cherry soda and chocolate ice cream.” Sandy ends up ordering the same thing which Danny follows with “Man you can eat a lot.” Sandy laughs. Classic diner food has always been a popular option for me and the ice cream in this scene looks extra delicious!

I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of food capturing moments because the film industry is full of them! Let us know what your favorite food moments are!
